The house is neat enough inside with pretty much everything you need for a holiday stay, bed linen, towels etc are supplied, but bring your own face cloths which were noticeably missing. The house has floor boards throughout which is appealing, however the single beds in the second room are on casters which, when you sleep in and turn so does the whole bed travel across the floor in unison. So I had to place my running shoes under the casters to remediate the problem.

Another noticeable minus for Gerohn was the complete absence of fly/insect screens which, during the hotter months becomes open house for these unwanted critters. There is an electronic insect zapper outside the second bedroom, but you have to turn this off before you retire for the night as the light from this makes it impossible to sleep. There are ceiling fans which I opted to use nightly with the windows closed.

And finally, there is a huge problem with cockroaches is the house, daily I would terminate at least 4 of these pests, some of which leaving their calling cards on my pillow case, which I threw away during our stay.

The owners were prompt and very pleasant to deal with, we had no issues at all in that regard, but in all they really need to look at some of the issues I’ve raised here to warrant me giving Gerohn any more than two stars. Needless to say we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful part of the world, Culburra.

I think it is well shown in the photographs that the property is not fenced and we have no intentions of fencing as it takes advantage of our gardens, lawns and the view across Curlers Bay.

We have never been asked for face towels before, something we may have to consider if we are asked again by other guests.

Our parents and guests stay in the second bedroom and we haven’t had complaints about runaway beds moving, it is much easier for the house cleaners when they are making beds to be able to move them.

There is no fly screen a on the windows as we feel it would detract from the views. We haven’t seemed to have had the insect problem that bad before. I would note that all rooms have adjustable ceiling fans and the house does have air conditioning.

The house is fumigated at least twice a year. We go to the house on a regular basis and have not had a cocktail problem. We have had no complaints from other guests and the cleaners were quite surprised when I mention this complaint to them.

I am sure the other feedback we have is testimony to our house, we really enjoy our place and want our guest to enjoy it as much as we do.
